MDG Wins 2 Awards from ASLA

Melton Design Group was recently recognized by the (ASLA)American Society Landscape Architecture – California Sierra Chapter for exceptional design and took home TWO awards for the Chico City Plaza and Verbena Fields projects! MDG’s Shawn Rohrbacker and Michael Cook (both far right of photo) were on hand to accept the awards at Fridays Design Awards Gala + Year End Meeting. MDG Volunteers with The Boys & Girls Club CREW Program

Melton Design Group recently volunteered planting design services for native plant restoration at Riverbend Park in Oroville CA. The project is in joint venture with the Feather River Recreation and Park District and the Boys and Girls Club of the North Valley. The Boys and Girls Club offers a 10 week CREW program (Career Readiness Empowered Workforce) to help provide youth with work and management experience.

Project Update: Downtown Gridley Streetscape

The attached photos and master plan are for streetscape improvements in downtown Gridley, CA. Original plans called for brick sidewalks and crosswalks but value engineering turned the brick sidewalks into a 4’ square pattern to match the existing walks. Crosswalks were kept standard.

Caper Acres Park Redesign Updates!

Here at Melton Design Group, most of us are locals – born and raised in Chico, CA. So you can imagine our excitement when we were approached by the city to give our iconic park, Caper Acres, a face lift.

Our conceptual plans for Caper Acres Park are currently in review with the City of Chico. With the city, we have redesigned the park to maintain it’s character, but improve safety regarding equipment and the overall park. 

Butte County Master Gardeners Host FREE Workshops!

The Butte County Master Gardeners are hosting a series of one hour workshops in March on how to keep your plants alive during severe drought and what changes to make in your landscape to create a drought tolerant garden for the future.

All workshops are absolutely FREE and reservations are NOT required, just show up at the Chico Library on the corner of 1st Ave and Sherman Ave from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on the following days:
